The almost invisible orthodontic treatment

Invisalign is a virtually invisible orthodontic treatment that can straighten teeth without the need for traditional metal braces. The clear set of aligners is a discreet and well-tolerated orthodontic treatment option. Developed over more than 20 years, Invisalign treatment is based upon extensive orthodontic research and has evolved by helping more than 16 million people straighten their teeth.

Dr Martin and Dr Geoff are passionate about providing orthodontic treatment for all patients and have extensive experience in correcting crooked teeth with Invisalign clear aligners. They are proud to be rated as Invisalign Diamond Providers and look forward to helping their patients achieve functional teeth alignment without braces.

Invisalign Orthodontics

Sometimes referred to as invisible braces, clear retainers such as Invisalign are not traditional braces as we know them. Unlike braces, the set of aligners used during treatment fit over the teeth. Made of a transparent material, they are almost completely invisible. They are a popular choice due to how visible they are and the lack of sharp edges or metal components.

We encourage Invisalign patients to:

  • Clean their aligners morning and night (when brushing teeth)
  • Avoid eating while wearing your aligners
  • Avoid hot drinks like tea and coffee while wearing your aligners.
  • Store aligners in their case when not being used
  • Not to clean aligners in the dishwasher

How Does Invisalign Work?

Invisible Teeth Straightening

Compared to conventional braces, Invisalign is a series of custom-made aligners that are used to straighten teeth during orthodontic treatment. Made from hospital-grade plastic, the aligners are durable and safe to use near the delicate soft tissues in the mouth.

The aligners work by applying pressure to the patient's teeth. Gradually, the position of teeth is changed over a series of aligners until the pre-planned alignment of the teeth and overall bite is achieved.

Following treatment, your orthodontist will recommend a retainer be used to maintain the desired position of the teeth.

During an initial consultation, your orthodontist will explain how the Invisalign process works and determine the suitability of clear aligners for your individual case.

Your initial consultation will also provide the opportunity to ensure a clear understanding of any potential risks associated with orthodontic treatment.

Comfort, convenience and discretion are the key benefits of Invisalign treatment.

Comfortable orthodontics - Compared to metal braces, clear aligners are designed to fit snugly over the patient's teeth. This unique design means there is no need for any sharp edges and results in less discomfort to the surrounding soft tissue in the mouth.

Convenient teeth alignment - Clear aligners are completely removable for activities such as eating and general dental hygiene.

Discrete teeth straightening - For individuals who are self-conscious about orthodontic treatment, Invisalign offers a barely noticeable treatment for straighter teeth. The combination of how treatment is delivered, with the aligners being almost entirely invisible makes Invisalign a popular choice for lasting orthodontic treatment.

Predictable Orthodontic - Results Your orthodontist can provide you with accurate and predictable results for a range of orthodontic issues including simple and complex cases. If clear aligners are not suitable for your individual circumstances, alternative orthodontic treatments will be explained.

Your orthodontist can provide accurate and predictable results for a range of orthodontic issues including simple and complex cases. The clear aligners are removable, making meal times simple without the risk of food being caught during meals. This also reduces the chance of damaged brackets and wires that can potentially lengthen the course of treatment.

While some discomfort may be felt when new aligners are worn, patients typically tolerate the discomfort with greater ease than other orthodontic treatments. Any discomfort typically subsides in 1-3 days. Your orthodontic team is also available to help at every step of the way.

The total cost of Invisalign orthodontic treatment depends on the complexity of your case and the duration of treatment.

Your orthodontist will explain the treatment cost during your initial consultation and explain the various options available to make treatment affordable.

MP Orthodontics is excited to offer several payment options for treatment. These include the option of interest-free finance and accessing superannuation to pay for orthodontic treatment. For some patients, private health insurance may cover part of treatment. If you are unsure, speak to your cover provider.

Unfortunately, not all orthodontic cases can be treated with Invisalign. While it is an effective treatment for many different types of teeth straightening, there are cases where braces are a more effective orthodontic solution. The types of cases that can be treated are determined by an experienced orthodontist. It is important to choose a doctor that is experienced and accredited in the treatment.

As Diamond Providers of Invisalign, you can rest assured that your treatment will be precise and professional from start to finish. If you are unsure about whether or not clear aligners are a suitable treatment for your, get in touch with our team today.
